Hickory White
Founded in 1881, Hickory White is believed to be the oldest continuously operating wood furniture manufacturer east of the Mississippi.
For well over a century, Hickory White has been making beautiful handmade furniture. The White Furniture Co. was founded in 1881 and the Hickory Manufacturing Co. was founded in 1902 in what would later become the heart of American furniture and textiles: North Carolina’s Catawba Valley. Eventually the two joined forces and became Hickory White, creating a workforce of exceptionally skilled artisans.
Hickory White has grown to a community of employees who are masters of woodworking, cabinetry and finishing. Their mission is to create the highest quality wood furniture while preserving traditional woodworking techniques and embracing modern technology. Hickory White’s artisans use the utmost care to create exceptional furniture, one piece at a time.
A majority of the wood Hickory White sources is sustainably harvested in the U.S. where lumber laws are strict, requiring selective harvesting and no clear-cutting. Hickory White only uses low-VOC finishes and all of their products are made from CARB-compliant materials.
